Peddapalli (పెద్దపల్లి) is a district in northern Telangana, India, with its administrative headquarters in Peddapalli town. Created in 2016 from the former Karimnagar district, it is known for coal mining, power generation and agriculture. The Godavari River shapes parts of its landscape, while Ramagundam and Godavarikhani form an important industrial belt.
Telugu is the main language, and festivals such as Bathukamma and Bonalu are prominent in local cultural life. Farming, mining, industrial employment and trade support livelihoods. Singareni coal operations, the NTPC power station and the fertilizer complex at Ramagundam are major economic anchors. Notable heritage sites include the Buddhist remains at Dhulikatta and the Ramagiri Fort ruins.
Common civic concerns include reliable drinking water, irrigation, road maintenance, drainage and sanitation. Residents also care about industrial pollution, mine safety, healthcare and employment opportunities. Balancing industrial growth with environmental protection, alongside improving public services in both villages and urban neighbourhoods, remains important.
