Mansa (ਮਾਨਸਾ) is a district in southern Punjab, India, in the Malwa region, with its headquarters in Mansa city. Bordering Haryana, it is known for its agricultural landscape, particularly cotton and wheat cultivation. Villages and market towns shape much of the district’s character.
Punjabi is the main language, and local culture reflects Malwa’s folk traditions, festivals and strong connections to farming. Agriculture, produce markets, small businesses and related services support the economy. Mansa, Budhlada and Sardulgarh are important urban centres. Talwandi Sabo’s historic religious sites lie in neighbouring Bathinda district, while Mansa’s own cultural landscape includes village gurdwaras, temples and community gathering places.
Common civic concerns include reliable irrigation, groundwater quality, farm incomes and access to healthcare and education. Residents also care about employment opportunities for young people, road maintenance, drainage, sanitation and dependable public services. Flood protection is an important issue in areas near the Ghaggar River.
