Gonda (गोंडा) is a district in northeastern Uttar Pradesh, India, in the Devipatan division. Its administrative headquarters is Gonda city. Set in the fertile plains of the Ghaghara river system, the district is known for agriculture, Awadhi cultural traditions and religious sites associated with the wider Ayodhya region.
Hindi and Awadhi are widely spoken, and village life, seasonal festivals and local markets shape community life.
