Sehore (सीहोर) is a district in central Madhya Pradesh, India, west of Bhopal. Its administrative headquarters is Sehore town. The district includes agricultural plains, smaller towns and rural settlements, with the Narmada River along its southern side. It is known for farming, religious destinations and close economic links with the state capital.
Hindi is widely spoken, alongside regional speech associated with Malwa and neighbouring areas. Agriculture supports much of the economy, particularly soybean and wheat cultivation, with trade, services and agricultural processing also providing livelihoods. Notable places include the Chintaman Ganesh temple in Sehore town and the Narmada ghats at Budhni. Festivals, markets and pilgrimage gatherings shape community life.
Common civic concerns include reliable irrigation, drinking water, crop prices and access to markets. Residents also care about road maintenance, public transport, healthcare, schools and employment opportunities. Waste management, drainage and river protection are important issues as towns grow and rural communities seek better public services.
