Rajgarh (राजगढ़) is a district in western Madhya Pradesh, India, along the border with Rajasthan. Its administrative headquarters is Rajgarh town. Part of the wider Malwa region, the district is known for its agricultural landscape, market towns and connections between central India and Rajasthan.
Hindi and regional Malwi speech are part of everyday life, while fairs, religious festivals and village traditions shape local culture. Farming and agricultural trade support much of the economy, with soybean and wheat among the important crops. Rajgarh, Biaora, Narsinghgarh and Sarangpur are notable towns. Narsinghgarh’s fort and lake landscape, along with local temples and historic buildings, contribute to the district’s heritage.
Common civic concerns include reliable irrigation and drinking water, road maintenance, healthcare access and the quality of schools. Farmers’ access to markets, crop prices and employment opportunities also matter. In growing towns, residents face practical questions around drainage, sanitation, waste collection and the upkeep of public spaces.
