Hingoli (हिंगोली) is a district in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra, India, with its headquarters in Hingoli town. Formed from Parbhani district in 1999, it is known for its agricultural landscape and religious heritage. Aundha Nagnath, an important Shiva pilgrimage site, draws devotees from across the region.
Marathi is the main language, and village life, weekly markets and religious festivals shape local culture. Farming and related trade support much of the economy, with soybean, cotton and pulses among the crops grown. Hingoli town provides administrative, educational and commercial services. Alongside Aundha Nagnath, the district’s temples and local fairs are important gathering places.
Residents commonly care about reliable drinking water, irrigation, rainfall uncertainty and fair crop prices. Rural roads, public transport, healthcare access and the quality of schools are also important civic concerns. Employment opportunities for young people, effective municipal sanitation and timely delivery of government services remain priorities across towns and villages.
