Devbhoomi Dwarka (દેવભૂમિ દ્વારકા) is a coastal district in western Gujarat, India, on the Saurashtra peninsula along the Arabian Sea. Its administrative headquarters is Khambhalia. The district is best known for Dwarka, a major Hindu pilgrimage destination associated with Krishna, and for its coastal landscapes and maritime heritage.
Gujarati language and culture shape everyday life, with pilgrimage traditions, religious festivals and coastal livelihoods playing important roles. Agriculture, fishing, trade, tourism and industry contribute to the economy. Prominent landmarks include the Dwarkadhish Temple, the pilgrimage island of Bet Dwarka and the Nageshwar temple. The coast also supports distinctive marine habitats.
Common civic concerns include reliable drinking water, road maintenance, sanitation and access to healthcare and education. Managing pilgrimage crowds and visitor waste is important around religious sites. Coastal communities also care about fishing livelihoods, marine conservation, cyclone preparedness and coastal erosion, alongside employment opportunities and balanced development across towns and villages.
