Dahod (દાહોદ) is a district in eastern Gujarat, India, bordering Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Its administrative headquarters is Dahod town. The district is known for its substantial Adivasi population, particularly Bhil communities, and its landscape of villages, farmland and low hills.
Gujarati and Bhili languages are widely spoken, and local culture includes Adivasi festivals, music, dance and craft traditions. Agriculture, agricultural labour, trade and migrant work support many households. Dahod town is an important railway centre, with railway workshops contributing to its economy and identity. Historical places include the Chhab Talav area and sites associated with the town’s Mughal-era past.
Common civic concerns include reliable drinking water, irrigation, rural roads and public transport. Residents also care about access to schools, healthcare, nutrition services and secure livelihoods. In growing urban areas, sanitation, drainage and waste collection matter, while rural communities often prioritise forest rights, welfare access and support for farming.
